The Mission of My Golden Words

I want to bring my five decades of business management and marketing prowess to anyone struggling to grow their small business or creative endeavors. I want to help those who are driven by undeniable (often undefinable, but always creative!) ideas on how to make a living on their own terms.

I do this without hesitation and have a special part of my brain that lives and breaths my client’s needs.

I look forward to sharing my obsessive nature with you and helping you find the marketing path to a successful, independent, and sustainable income stream.

A Very Short History

With my first business at the age of seven – with two employees! – it’s not surprising that I have had a life of entrepreneurial adventures. Knocking on doors to sell my hand-made potholders gave me a unique start to a life of marketing and sales. I eventually had a consulting practice in the 80’s helping a diverse client list with sales and marketing challenges.

In 1992, I returned to selling hand-made products. I have been a very successful full time studio artist. I was included in the Contemporary Designer Collection with Neiman Marcus at one point. I still maintain dozens of wholesale accounts.

However, my artist community tugged at my heartstrings. I saw talent – amazing talent – stuck in the “struggling artist” category. Returning to my consulting role was inevitable.

For businesses today, My Golden Words are welcomed as much now as 30 years ago. With the seemingly daily changes to the rules and the “whole internet thing”, everyone needs a little guidance from time to time. I am fortunate to be able to help.

With over 50 years in sales, marketing, and business management, my vast background and experience has led to some nice feathers in my cap in recent years as I build My Golden Words into a vibrant resource for small businesses – especially the artist community.

I began sewing the seeds for this gradual shift in the late 2000’s as I increased my appearances teaching E’s of Selling Art Seminars in live events and Skype gatherings.

Became Solutions Provider with Constant Contact. Joined Arts Business Institute faculty as a workshop presenter and guest blogger. Did numerous guest blogs and interviews with several established art industry leaders, including Carolyn Edlund of Artsy Shark, Alyson Stanfield of Art Biz Blog, and Connie Mettler of Art Fair Insider.

2014

Became to Authorized Local Expert with Constant Contact. Co-authored E-Course, “The Artsy Shark Success Guide to Email Marketing for Artists. Officially launched www.mygoldenwords.com blog. Continued growing my speaker engagements.

Certified as a Marketing Authority after completing course with HubSpot. Maintained my certifications with Constant Contact including Platinum Solution Provider.

2016

Is off and running! Published my E’s of Selling Art System and have some big news in the future! It’s going to be another GREAT year!

It’s noteworthy that in the midst of growing my consulting practice, I continue to run my hand-made jewelry studio and still maintain active wholesale accounts across the US and though out my home state of Hawaii!
